In a much simpler definition, batik means a wax-crafted fabric. It is a way of decorating cloth by covering a part of it with a coat of wax and then dyeing the cloth. There are a few other processes involved in the making of batik, they include preparing the cloth, framing the cloth, tracing the design, waxing the cloth, colouring, boiling and cleaning the cloth to remove wax from it. In order to produce the desired design and pattern, the whole membatik process needs to go on a defined sequence. The more colours and motifs a batik fabric has, the complex the process is.

The Art Of Batik

line

'It has been said that art is a tryst, for in the joy of it, maker and beholder meet' - On our own terms, batik is the art of colouring and the ability to translate our imagination into a piece of fabric. It is the power of invention. We are driven to make batik a wardrobe necessity to every woman and can be worn with anything at any time. Our inspiration comes in many ways - from strolling around the city to hanging out at a tea shop, from falling in love to mending a broken heart, from anything random found on the street to appreciating a good art. Each of our batik has its muse and story, it is a dramatic twist of reality.
